Creative & Heritage Facilitator / GRAFT Associate
Paul is a creative facilitator working across media, heritage and community participation. He's been instrumental in reviving the tradition of hat-wearing at Sandown Bay Regatta where the annual Grand Hat Parade gives enthusiastic makers a stage to show off eccentric and extravagant creations.
Chair of Sandown Carnival for five years, he now sits on the Bay area’s regeneration steering group as Heritage Champion as well as running Sandown HUB, the online community information group.
Paul’s career as a television producer included making Big Brother, Fame Academy and Restoration and he’s a keen snapper who likes to record both the everyday and the quirky whenever he gets the chance.
’The opportunity to become an associate member of Graft Studios IOW was too good to miss. I’ve been a passionate campaigner to restore and re-use Sandown Town Hall after this historic building suffered years of neglect. To see the place reborn with a proper cultural and community purpose is a dream come true and I fully support Graft Studios to make their mark in the local community and further afield’.
