Jo Bemis
Painter / GRAFT Resident
Jo has worked as a professional artist for over twenty years, and her work has been represented by several leading galleries in London, Bath, Glasgow and Cornwall. She is mainly known for her oil paintings inspired by Atlantic shorelines and moving water.
Jo hopes to use her time at Graft Studios to create a new body of work where she can develop her ideas further, and experiment on a larger scale with colour, derived from sketches she makes outside.
Although Jo is primarily represented by galleries, she is happy to invite visitors to view her works in progress at Graft Studios by appointment. Jo’s work can be found in private collections worldwide.
Currently Represented By, Island Fine Arts, Red Rag Gallery Bath, Art House Gallery St Ives. Jo also has a selection of local paintings at Burfields Antques in Ventnor.

A selection of sketches and paintings made out on the beaches on the Isle of Wight and the North Cornish coast. ‘My favorite haunts here on the Island include Yaverland, Niton, Ventnor and Bembridge.’
