Abby Wilkinson
Painter / GRAFT Associate
‘Take lots of risks, study art, read books, stay curious, make mountains of mistakes, learn how to fix them and try not to make them again!’
This is how Abby lives, how she works and how she teaches – through playing, experimenting, thinking, researching, creating and inspiring others to find the courage to look beyond the obvious.
She is a multi-disciplinary Artist, Designer, Teacher of Art and Design, Art Tutor and an Art Therapy Practitioner; she has been involved in the creative industries and in education for 40 years.
Her work has been used by many high-profile clients, but she is most profoundly proud of her work helping ‘ordinary’ people to achieve extraordinary things.
Drawing is one of her specialities, both analogue and digital – and she is not afraid of scale, working on projects from stamps to street art and everything in between.
Working across disciplines is what excites her most, combining stories with drawing, mixed media, printing, painting, scanning, collecting sounds, adding music, model making, playing with lots of different techniques and then combining them to make something meaningful.
